The Story
Cradle of viticulture in the Loire Valley, Clos de l'Abbaye is a vineyard of 6.85 ha of Cabernet Franc aged from 30 to 95 years, located in the heart of the former Benedictine Abbey of Bourgueil. Since 1975, Michel Lorieux has been running the Clos l'Abbaye de Bourgueil vineyard and in 1988 he converted it into organic agriculture. In 2018 Michel Lorieux's son, Jérémy and his wife Faustine took over the vineyard, in order to perpetuate over 40 years of family work.
