The Story

Château Haut-Boutisse is one of the wines of Château Palais Cardinal, a family property that has existed since the middle of the 19th century. Four families have succeeded each other over time, the most recent being the Ballande family with the takeover of the vineyard in 2018. The property is now managed by Nicolas Ballande, accompanied by his team of 6 people. Between 2008 and 2020 a lot of work was done to improve the quality of the wines: all renovated buildings, new temperature-controlled vat room, purchase of new state-of-the-art equipment. The cultivated area has also undergone a big change, going from 4ha in 2008 to 30ha today, including 26ha of Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and 4ha of Bordeaux. Supported by the Oenoteam team and its oenologist Thomas Duclos, their wines have been HVE 3 and Terra Vitis certified since 2019.
