The Story

Founded in 1990 by Jean-François and Cathy Izarn, Borie la Vitarèle, it is 18 hectares of vines in the AOC Saint-Chinian managed in organic and biodynamic since 1998. Day after day, they protect the biodiversity of the domain in an approach global life. The soils are alive there, the vines in harmony with the land, the wines nourished by these beautiful terroirs. Vines under influences which give unique wines, reflections of the multiple facets of nature. It is then in the cool cellar that the alchemy of fermentations takes place ... The elegance and finesse of the wines are built through gentle, minimalist vinifications, considered as slow infusions. Respectful aging is the highlight of the birth of cuvées The couple have made Borie la Vitarèle a real place of creation, stripped of the superfluous and frills, of which the wines are the perfect reflection. Since the accidental disappearance of Jean François in April 2014, Cathy and her daughter Camille have managed the estate with four hands, supported by a trusted team. Since 2017, it is Camille who vinifies the wines of Borie la Vitarèle. Flagship producers of Languedoc, they continue to create unique and authentic terroir wines that reflect the music of a singular place ... inevitably inimitable.
