The Story

Florian, who comes from a farming family, has been passionate about vines since childhood, and honed his skills through internships with renowned winemakers before planting his first vines in 2006 on his family plot. The south-facing “Champ Gibault”, with its unique soils, produces wines of remarkable precision and purity. Florian favors a high planting density (8333 vines/ha) to limit yields per vine and maximize grape concentration. Committed to environmentally-friendly viticulture, he avoids chemicals, uses indigenous yeasts for fermentation and limits the addition of sulfur, cultivating today around 3.5 hectares on his 7-hectare estate. The Côteaux du Giennois, sometimes dubbed “the poor man's Sancerre”, offers wines with a pronounced mineral character, thanks to soils combining clay, flint and chalk, such as those from Florian Roblin's “Champ Gibault” parcel. These white wines rival Sancerre at the blind tasting, while the reds stand out for their richness and structure, at much more affordable prices.
