The Story
Domaine Loew is located in Westhoffen, near Strasbourg : founded in 1996 by Etienne Loew, it is rooted in a rich family history dating back to the 18th century. On the steep hills west of The estate of 6.5 hectares is spread out on 5 villages, with many various terroirs, but all the same subsoil of marl. Etienne is very attached to the protection of his land: the estate has been farmed biodynamically since 1996. the estate favors manual harvesting, enhanced by the presence of sheep and goats in the vineyard in autumn, thus promoting the microbial vitality of the soil. Each terroir is vinified separately, yields vary between 25 and 45 hectolitres per hectare, and spontaneous fermentation can last from a few weeks to several years.
