The Story

Domaine Wilfrid Rousse covers 19.5 hectares in the communes of Savigny-en-Véron, Beaumont-en-Véron and Chinon. It includes 18 hectares of Cabernet Franc, also known as Breton, from which the red wines and a rosé de saignée are made. Half a hectare of Chenin completes the vineyard to produce the “Les Cinq Pères” cuvée. Certified organic, the estate is located on the right bank of the Vienne, west of Chinon. At the time of its first vintage in 1987, only one hectare was in production. Over the years, Wilfrid Rousse has carefully selected terroirs offering harmony between soils and vine exposure, enabling the vineyard to expand progressively. Today, the estate remains a family business on a human scale, attached to its know-how and traditions. No chemicals are used. Respect for the terroir and preservation of soil life.
