Domaine Paul Autard is a renowned Châteauneuf-du-Pape estate, consistently earning top score from Jeb Dunnuck (91-95). This fifth-generation family domaine has been in Jean-Paul’s hands since 1976, when, at just 17, he renamed it after the family’s beloved name: Paul. His daughter Pauline joined in 2015, followed by her brother in 2020, continuing the family legacy. Syrah planted on sandy soils brings freshness, elegance and finesse to the wines, while all their Châteauneuf-du-Pape are aged in oak - a distinctive family savoir-faire that Pauline is committed to carrying forward.
Their flagship cuvée, Côte Ronde Châteauneuf-du-Pape, comes from 75-100-year-old Grenache (50%) and Syrah (50%) planted on a unique, dome-shaped hill in the “Le Mourre de Gaud” lieu-dit, between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Courthézon. The stony, fossil-rich limestone soils provide ideal conditions for ripening. Aged for 16 months in barrels, it is rich and complex, with remarkably supple tannins - a cuvée consistently praised by Jeb Dunnuck, reaching 95 points for the 2023 vintage.

When I worked in the family Domaine in Meursaut in the 80s, I had the good opportunity to meet
Alain Chapel, an incredible chef who in turn, inspired a generation of chefs. Twice a year, Alain would
