The 35-hectare estate was established on an ancient farm and mill, run by the same family since the 18th century until 1991. Marc and Laurence Vincent took over until 2023, when Jean-Louis Bernet took the reins and kept its authenticity intact, while modernizing winemaking practices. Certified organic since 2013 and Demeter since 2017, vines benefit from the highest southern exposure points of the recent micro-appellation of Saumur-Puy-Notre-Dame (recognized in 2007), on limeston, Jurassic and chalk.
Presentation
Beneath the estate, 1.5 km of galleries have been dug into the Tuffeau rock. There, at 12°C, more than 100,000 bottles of different Saumur vintages and appellations quietly blossom, sheltered from the light.
