The Story

The Menicucci story is carved out of an Italian family tradition and flavoured with passion. Seriously passionate about wine, the love affair began in 1970 when Antonio Menicucci planted his first grapes in Ortona, Italy. Three generations later, the Menicucci legend lives on. The Menicucci vineyards stretch over 20 hectares of vineyards, located in the municipalities of Canosa Sannita and Ortona. The family produces 100% certified organic wine from the native Abruzzesi grapes; Montepulciano D’Abruzzo, Trebbiano D’Abruzzo, Pecorino Terre Di Chieti and Passerina Terre Di Chieti. The soils are made up of textured lands and generally end with a limestone substrate and rocky outcrops sparse. The thermal values characterize a rather warm texture, with little annual rainfall and very high temperature ranges; a condition that has a beneficial influence on the quality of the grapes. Producing a variety of award winning, organic hand-crafted vegan wines, this winery has something to satisfy every palate ranging from unique, fruit-driven wines to traditional white and red varietals. In their Ginesia range, Menicucci Vini are the first in Abruzzo and the second in Italy to use the helix cork – an innovative cork-glass wine packaging solution. With this natural cork, there is no need of a corkscrew – just twist the cork and enjoy the wine!
